Episode 99 – Mellow Fellow, New Apple Products and Review of iOS 16

It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech Show. We are here primarily this episode to discuss iOS 16.0.2 and new Apple products. It is an Ed less and Jeanine less show as TJ Meloy joined Brian and Allison in their isolated lairs to discuss our new products and thoughts.

We start off discussing the 40 year anniversary of the first emoji being sent and how that day began the descent of modern civilization.

Is anyone surprised or shocked at the lengths Facebook is going to to keep on tracking all of us? Not only are they going around Apple’s privacy road blocks, Facebook is now breaking state and federal law to track all of us.

If you are a gmail user, get ready to have your inbox flooded by unwanted messages from politicians.

We’re all getting another Amazon Prime Day that no one asked for on October 11th and 12th. Does anyone care?

We then dive in to discussing iOS 16.0.2, starting out wondering how in the world Apple could release an operating system that left some VoiceOver users in the dark. Next we discuss focuses and under settings the missing on/off toggle for focuses. We then bring up the app switcher issue some VoiceOver users have been having and try and figure out who realized that if you turn inverted colors off, the app switcher should behave normally. We then get Brian’s F*ck me moment of iOS 16, which is a bad one. Notifications are then discussed and. Door detection is here, door detection is here, just don’t try using it at night.

If you do not want to experience crash detection first hand to find out if it works, definitely check out this YouTube video of some guys who tested it out for all of man kind.

And if you are noticing a battery drain on your phone you may want to consider turning off haptic keyboard.

If you have been getting bombarded with stupid requests asking are you sure you want to paste this here, not to worry those idiotic notifications will be going away in iOS 16.1.

We got new products, we got new products. Allison and TJ tell us about the new iPhone 14’s they are rocking with. We then get Allison and TJ’s thoughts on the locked screen new island. After our visit to the island we move on further down discussing the new Lock Screen. Allison and TJ enlighten us to the new start up and shut down chimes specifically only on the 14 models.

After the new phones, we discuss our new watches as Allison has the new Watch Series 8 and Brian went Mac Daddy with the new Watch Ultra. We talk about the on-screen typing experience, the new action button on the Ultra watch, L5 GPS and using GPS on the watch. We discuss which complications we enjoy using.

And finally all three of us discuss our experience with the new Air Pod Pro Two’s.

We then listen to a Voicemail and an email we received.

Brian then plugs the upcoming Laugh For Sight at Gotham Comedy Club on Monday, October 24th, and tickets can be purchased here.

And it’s a little bit of a lengthy What’s Pissing Off Brian, and we get an appearance of What’s Pissing Off Allison, and more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading.
