It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech Show and ICantCU Combo Podcast, as our friend David Goldstein joins Brian and Ed at the NFB Conference 2023 to recap our three day experience at this year’s conference. We recorded this podcast at two in the morning, so we may sound a little tired, and since we were all in the same room, we apologize for the issues with Ed’s mic. Of course with technology, it wouldn’t be That Real Blind Tech Show if there wasn’t a tech issue!
We start off talking about the fun people we met in Houston. Only Brian, David, and Ed could go to a conference with 2800 blind peeps and end up meeting a bunch of sighted people.
We then head back to our arrival in Houston, and the fun we had finding our hotel. David talks about the phenomenal customer service we received during our entire stay at the Embassy Suites Downtown Houston.
We then discuss the iBug Today party that we were invited to, and hit up a little late. David talks about the luck he had at the party. Ed then discusses the difference between beep ball and the Italian Blind Baseball he was discussing with people at the conference.
We then discuss some of the booths we hit up at the NFB conference. And David discusses the blind enterprise program and the struggles he has had with it.
David then tells us about the closing night banquet dinner and it sounds way to confusing and not fun, good thing Brian and Ed will already be out of Houston. We then backtrack and talk about our dinner at Papa Deux that night, and we circle back to meeting our new friends Clay and Bryan.
We then discuss going to the Astros game on July 4th. We discuss our experience with guest services and the real time radio broadcast feed.
We then go in to what caused us to delay podcasting to two in the morning, and it was worth it.
We then all give our opinions of this year’s NFB Conference.
